KUNO - An Art University Without Walls

KUNO is a lively and ambitious Nordplus network comprising 16 Nordic-Baltic fine art academies, aiming to become an art university without walls. By cooperating on a wide range of project activities, the member institutions commit themselves to the continued development of higher fine art education in the region.

A major KUNO event in 2010 is the admission of new students to Nordic Sound Art, an MA programme offered jointly by academies in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. The Royal Danish Academy of Arts, Schools of Visual Arts, is the coordinating institution, with composer and sound artist Rune Søchting as the driving force. Priority is given to students from the five organizing institutions, and interested students from other KUNO academies may also be admitted.

In the Nordic and Baltic Panoramic Interchange project students and professors from Iceland, Lithuania, Sweden and Norway are revisiting landscape art. Following workshops in Bergen, Vilnius and Reykjavik the participants will exhibit their panoramic work in Stockholm in September 2010. The discourse and material is disseminated via the project blog
