ACADEMIC ART LIFE VERSUS REAL ART LIFE
"The relationship between art institutions and art education seem quite an essential topic these days, when borders between studying art and being an artist seems more and more hard to draw". The statement was made by Marko Mäetamm, artist and dean of Fine Arts at the Estonian Academy of Arts. The 2008 KUNO Teachers Seminar took place at EAA in Tallinn.

TOOLS FOR TEACHING
On Fidelity: Art, Politics, Passion and Event was the title of Mary Kelly's lecture at the 2007 Teachers Seminar in Bergen. The professor of Art and Critical Theory at the UCLA Department of Art is well known for her pioneering educational work. Together with another pioneer, Reem Fadda, Academic Director at International Academy of Art Palestine, Kelly introduced profound perspectives on contemporary fine art education. Their lectures triggered enthusiasm and intense discussions among the 40 participants from all the KUNO partner institutions.

The 2006 KUNO Teachers Seminar was held at the Royal University of Fine Arts (KKH) in Stockholm, 6th - 7th October. Focus was put on the strategies that the Nordic-Baltic art academies have developed in the face of the European transformation from single cycle to BA/MA/PhD levels.
